Today, we started class writing in our double entry journals, jotting down a couple ideas that we would add to our map! Once we finished writing in our double entry journals we presented our maps again and explained why we added specific points/ideas. Some people stated and connected back to the 5 themes of Geography (Check homepage for the 5 themes of Geography) which are location, place, HUman-Environment Interaction, Movement, and Region. In addition, we transition into how to assess ourselves on this specific topic on the 5 themes of Geography. Ms. Dordoni asks, “How can you show something that you understand WHILE creating something useful for a bigger audience (your class) to use as a reference?” Therefore, as a class we begin to discuss about what we must have for each of the 5 themes of Geography. We get a chart and analyze must haves for the 5 themes of Geography!
Some students added human characteristics such as buildings, culture, and language! For those who can’t access the powerpoint on 5 themes of geography here is a link below for more information!
