Class started with the do now, which asked about what we did on Friday, the creation myth video. After, we stood up and did a “whip around” and shared with the class what we wrote down on the identity chart from the video. Students had different perspectives about what they saw, about how the video told them how life was created.
The myths varied from Inca, Navajo, Egyptian, Chinese, Zulu, Norse, and Aboriginal. After the class talked, we talked about creating an analysis chart. We then got back into the groups that we watched the video with, and we are taking notes on a piece of chart paper. We have to answer questions like, “What was present in the beginning?” and more.
The term, Creation Myth, is a very important topic lately in class. Link to the big myth.com. After each group made their chart, they had to present. While other groups are presenting, your group has to take notes about the group that is presenting. Each group re-watched their video, and wrote down what they thought was important information. After about ten minutes, each group presented.
This lesson is important because to our learning because it better helps us understand how the world was created, especially from different points of view. It is also related to social studies because it is the learning of our past. And what other people think happened in the past, which also helps historians and other people whose job is to learn about the world and how it came to be.
HOMEWORK: Nothing due Tuesday
UPCOMING: Artifact Project due Wednesday-bring in item and fill out graphic organizer. Edmodo leader Post due Wednesday night, response due Tuesday.
