Class started with us walking into class and taking our seats as we waited for our teachers to tell us what we were doing The first thing we did was our warm up which was about nomadic people and settlers. We had to write down what their lifestyles was like for them and what the benefits of being a nomadic and a settler, then we had to explain the word “domestication” and put it in a sentence. After that we had a small class discussion on the benefits of the agriculture revolution.

Finally we watched a movie clip called Guns,Germs and Steel about where the first agricultural civilization began which was the Middle East, and how hunters used to use bows and arrows to catch their food which would usually take hours of hard work and patience. This video also showed that there was not a lot of kids in the tribes because the women did not have enough time to take care of their children and get food for everybody. There was a point in the video when they were saying there was a drought in the Middle East for a 1,000 years and how animal herds and trees were wiped out.
This lesson is important to our learning because it tells us how our people back then used to live and how hard it was back then. This has to do with social studies because it tells us about history and why things are like this today. This also has to do with social studies because it is improving our knowledge. i think this video is helpful to us because we get to learn things we didn’t know.
Homework:
DUE TOMORROW: Edmodo questions, nomad and settlers Google slides
DUE MONDAY: Edmodo responses
