We started the class with a do now which was watching a video about a uncontacted amazon tribe (www.uncontactedtribes.org). We spent time analyzing photographs figuring out the social group, and the use of the land and natural resources being used in the picture. We discussed a technique called slash and burn that is used for farming to clear land in a quicker way. Next we learned how to search specifically for a Powerpoint (file:ppt and then the subject of what you would like the power point to be on). After that we got together with our groups to continue with our group projects. This relates to Social Studies because it is important to understand how people in different parts of the world have different living conditions. This lesson is important to our learning because farming has been the biggest change in human history.
