Today's class started with writing down the Do Now on the left side of the paper, and the questions we needed to answer. The first thing we did was listen to Mrs. Dordoni read The Seven Blind Mice and answer the questions on the right side of our double entry journal. Reading to the class wasn’t just to have story time but to introduce the idea of multiple perspectives that people may have different from others.
Second, we started talking about Truth, Historians, and sourcing. After that each individual went around the class to each table and answered a Historical question using 2 sources. Then answering which of the two you trust more and why? We ended class talking about our different views on the historical questions and our sources. Wrapping it up, Mrs. Dordoni explained to us about our homework and how long we needed to spend on it, and receiving our graphic hand out when we leave the class room.
Homework:
1. Find an article, blog, video, etc.
2. Use the SOAPPS-Tone graphic organizer to evaluate whether the source is reliable or not.
3. Post the link to your source AND your analysis to Edmodo (you may either attach a copy of completed SOAPPS-Tone graphic organizer OR type analysis directly into post).
