Today was a different day Ms.Karis taught our class while Ms.Dordoni taught Ms.Karis’s class. She was here today to show us how to make an exemplar Edmodo response.
Today's goal was to identify the criteria that make an exemplar discussion question response and to self assess our progress with discussion question responses. Ms.Karis made a chart titled criteria of exemplar edmodo response she then asked the class what we thought some criteria of edmodo response was and jotted down our thoughts. The list included:
-Inviting/responding to other
-Thoughtful,concise,restate
-Respectful of ideas
-Grammar usage sentences
-Reference or cite class content
-Thoughtful response invites others to think/respond
-Connect to learning
Then we started our do now which was to log on to Edmodo and take turns using the rubric to self assess one of our answers from September. After we were given a sheet and were told to highlight in different colors where we saw three things we wrote on the chart references or cite class content, connect to learning, thoughtful response invites others to think/respond. Once we finished we went over it as a class and highlighted it together.
My thoughts: I think today was an interesting class and I enjoyed having Ms.Karis here to teach us. I now know how to make a good Edmodo response. I look forward to using some of the tips she gave us and think it would be a good idea if we all applied them to our edmodo post to. This is important to social studies because by knowing how to do things such as reference or cite we can learn how to examine documents better like we did today in class with the sampler edmodo discussion. And this can also help us while we respond to our edmodo discussion.
Home work:
