As we entered the class Ms.Dordoni shook our hands as usual whilst she did that she handed us a do now about Hominids. The do now had different questions about the different Hominids we learned about such as the Homo Habilis the Homo Erectus and the Homo Sapien and we had to answer how they’ve been on earth who came first. We also had to decide whether its a reliable source.
Learning Target: I can distinguish between the social organization and use of land and natural resources and between early and those who lived early agrarian societies.
(The way people interact to each other and the way we use of natural resources)
After Ms.Dordoni explained the target we’re going to split up into two big groups of Social Organization and Use of land and natural resources. Everyone has a role. The boss has to make sure the group is focusing and helps guide the group and keep the flow. The Keeper makes sure the material is in the folder not in desk and has to make sure all the sheets stay in the folder. After we were split into four groups we had to decide who’s going to do what and the roles of each person. In our groups we had to fill out a Comparison chart about Nomads and Settlers we also discussed the difference between the two and how they affect other people around them and the resources. My thoughts on the lesson is that is was fun researching different life styles and going back into the past it changed my opinion on a few things because I’ve never researched so far back into the past about Hominids and Homo Habilis before it was new to me but very interesting and fun!
Homework:
None assigned but the Survey and the permission slip is due tomorrow and so is the Parent sheet.
