Class started with a do now, which involved taking out our double-entry journals and correctly labeling them for the “Power of Voice” TED Talk video. The first thing we did was talk about a time when our voice was needed but we didn’t say anything. Second we all answered a question as to why our voice is very important. After that our teacher Ms. Dordoni helped us and as a class we all learned how to blog. Then we were introduced to the template so when it’s our time to blog we would have everything and be ready.
This lesson is important to our learning because it teaches us that sometimes we have to speak up. If someone talks bad about your friends or family or even people that you just met, you have to say something or they're going to think that it’s fine. Also this topic may seem like it doesn't relate to social studies at all, but it kinda teaches us to learn from the mistakes of the people of the past and just do better.
