Class started with Mrs. Karis greeting us at the door instead of Mrs. Dordoni. They had switched places for the day. As we found our seats we were told by Mr. Parke, to get our individual student grade sheet out that needed to be signed, and on the back you needed to write two goals that you were going to do for the rest of the quarter. Second we started to go over what we need to do to get a good grade for the Edmodo response questions thoroughly as a class. We all got rubrics to help us understand a little better on how to get an A+++ on an edmodo discussion question response.
Here is the link to the rubric. While we were going over the rubric we also made a criteria for our class of a what a perfect edmodo response should look like. Here is a picture of the criteria that we made of what a good edmodo response should look like.
Next Ms. Karis handed out edmodo response that students from her class wrote. As we were reading the response, we highlighted, underlined, circled, and made a dot next to things that they did write following our class rubric.
Finally, we ended the period by taking what we highlighted, underlined, circled, and made dots next to, and we shared them out as a class, while Ms. Karis wrote it on the smartboard.
I feel that this lesson is important to our learning, because it teaches us how to answer a question correctly , and by answering the question thoroughly, it will get us to understand more, and it will give us a clear understanding of what we are learning by answering the question. This has to do with social studies because it teaches us how to answer the question right, and if we answer the question correctly, then it will give us a better understanding of what we are doing in class.
I believe that going over edmodo responses will help us a lot because if we answer it correctly then we will get a better grade. Also because we went over it, this will help everyone answer the question with the proper response, and it will get us to think about the question more.
HOMEWORK:
DUE TOMORROW: Hunter Gather Worksheet #1-8, #9-11 are optional. Find one of your own response on edmodo and score it with the rubric.
DUE THURSDAY: Picture PowerPoint on hunter/gather and agriculture.
