Today in class we started with a Do Now with a thought provoking question, “What are the main components of Civilization”. We followed up with with the introduction of a new research project that we are starting called the Early River valley Civilizations. Each person in the group had to pick a specific topic to focus on. One of the main goals for this project is to explain why different ancient River Valley Civilizations developed similar forms of government. We ended the class by starting our research for our topic. This is important to our learning because it is good for us to know about how civilizations came about and for us to know about different cultures from the past and present. This connects to history because it shows the difference from hunting and gathering and farming. Farming started out in small towns but now its progressing to bigger towns and areas and it more complex because of resources, larger population, and advanced technology.
